That JD 450 (clc?) excavator isn't a john deere. Its a hitachi. I am a IH fan. My family farm is a international implement farm PERIOD! I am a mechanic for a construction company. http://www.igelco.com/home/ Construction equipment wise. I don't think you can beat 410 JD backhoes. They are tough! Our 750 JD dozers down to 450's hold up fairly well. We have a couple smaller excavators that are in the 130-230 size. A few volvos, Bunch of komatsu's. IMHO you can't hardly beat a komatsu. Damn good excavator. Got a bunch of CAT equipment. D4 through D8's. Bunch of pans 627 to 613's. And a few off roads volvo 40 tons and 35's. And some Deere 35 tons (really are made by Bell) Which are fookin junk! All have there problems and there strong points. The volvo hoes are very impressive. Everything CAT we have LOVES fuel! Our 815 compactors won't go 10 hours on one tank usually.

Our company has 18 cat scrapers, all 627's. we just got 2 brand new 627h and they are pretty nice. As far as the jd 450, idk who actually makes it but it says jd.

We have alot of 615's four 621's and four 627's Two of our newest are G's. There all pretty old. I know for a fact that the bigger JD excavators are Hitachi's. They come out of the same plant. On one end they are orange and on the other they are yellow and gray. We had a 450 Jd excavator puke a bucket cyl. when it was under warranty. They brought us a orange cyl off a Hitachi cause it was the only thing they could get in a timely manner lol. talk about funny lookin in the field on a all gray and yellow piece of equipment. Still pretty good excavators imho for the money.

Equipment is equipment brand size nothing matters to me. I have my favorites, but that don't make them any better then another. Hell I love running a D8K way better then the new stuff.

Down here Cat sucks because their dealer sucks, but they have been getting better. Hell my sig has Terex hoe in it and their just white Doosans.

So you have been around ONE John Deere that you admit was old.........

I guess with an argument like "Fawk Jon Dear" what can I possibly say??? I mean that's such a brilliant statement, and clearly points why John Deere would be a lousy choice of supplier of a light duty Diesel engine......

Well i do work for CAT... I have been in plenty of green machine im fine with a deere on the farm but leave the building work to the cats in the construction industry

Also kamatsu has more in common with CAT then u think. We build alot of kamatsus parts and supply them many hydralic parts, buckets, thumbs, sticks, booms, and other secret spy stuff

Love it or hate it....

That's a sharp back-hoe :thumb:

Maybe we'll see a new kind of enthusiast, imagine "tractor show and shine" competitions on the weekends in the Midwest :roflmao:

The prize could be a "gold plated stock of corn" ;)
