Well, this is the buying season and I've always wanted one. Just tired of dragging hoses I guess. This is just for personal use, not trade work. Wanting a 1/2" drive and maybe 3/8". What do you have, your experience with said tool and battery life.

I hear a lot of good things about the snap on guns. But I use one of these and absolutely love it. It's been through hell and back and it's still ticking. I've only had one tool (of a few dozen) go for warranty service to Milwaukee and it was painless.

Although I have the pin detent and not ring.

I have Milwaukee 18v 1/2 & 3/8 impacts that Ive had for over 5 years that with no problems
as far as battery life I have swapped wheels & tires at the track, unbolt some other things, then do it swap everything back on again & only drop the battery 1 light on the indicator out of 4

Milwaukee 18V gets my vote. I never thought I would get so hooked on cordless. I very rarely need any air tools.

My 1/4 and 3/8 are matco. Been pretty good. The 3/8 is my go to. Buddy at work just bought the new 1/2 Milwaukee gun. It is a bad bitch. Broke the inch and a half lug nuts on my 5 ton Rockwell axles like nothing. Buzzed off a few Duramax balancer bolts with it too. No sweat. Only air I ever use is my air chisel and 90* die grinder for scuffing pads.

I've got both snap on 1/2 and 3/8 lithium. Gun have 1 year warranty and batteries have 2. Plenty of power and I like how they have a brake when you release the trigger unlike some of the other brands. If you willing to pay the price snap on has my vote

I've got the Milwaukee fuel. It's got a lot more power than the previous impact Milwaukee made. I love it. When my buddies snap on impact won't break the bolt loose we grab the Milwaukee.

I'm a Milwaukee fanboy though. I probably have 12-15 Milwaukee batter tools between m12 and m18

Snap on lithiums. Ct8810 for the 3/8 and the ct7850 in 1/2 nothing can compete with that 3/8 gun and the only 1/2 I've ever used that can go with the snap on is the IR 20v gun

Friction ring or pin dentent. What are the advantages/disadvantages?

My IR titanium ait has friction ring... I've found they will wear out and fall off... Pin can be a PITA to get stuff on/off if it stiff..

Like the ring if I'm swapping sockets alot.. Easier/quicker to get sockets on/off
