Did you drain the system completely when you did this and does your heater work when you get it warmed up? these engines can be a bastard to get air out of sometimes.

Did not drain system and heat works fine had solid hooked up on 2 hour ride and double checked temp gauge factory is little off but not much truck never got above 180

I've never had trouble bleeding the air out of a Duramax. I just pull the little bolt on top of the thermostat housing and fill it until coolant starts running out. Then I put it back in and fill the tank until it is full. Once it heat cycles once, the coolant level will drop, and I usually have to add a little. I've never had a problem doing it like that.

Yep I do it the same way and have had two that didn't seem to want to let the air out. but most of the time i've had no issues.

I have tried to bleed system a few times through the weep hole and still builds pressure as for the mention of head gasket I've done combustion test 3 times and get negative results on everyone just gets me going I've built several motors gas that is this being my first diesel sucks not knowing anything about them

I've never been able to get one of those tests to show a positive for combustion gas even when I knew for certain the head gasket was bad. I know others have had good luck from them, but I have not. I wouldn't take that as a for sure sign that they're not bad. Does the coolant system stay pressurized overnight?

Sorry didn't read. Try layfayette injection and turbo. Ask for Shawn. He's a Cummins guy but works on anything. Located near london

I mixed all kinds of junk when mine head gaskets went for over a year before I changed em. The green doesnt do immediate damage but can cause corrosion after time. Also like Josh said that leak down test isn't really accurate, Had mine done twice and came back hood both times(this was after running it almost 60k miles) and anyways, I tore it down and the fire rings on HGs's on #2 cyl and #7 were 3/4 of the way gone.
