Trying to fig out how to determin if its air blockage , head gasket, or water pump. I have been told those and also cap and thermastats but done did those. For starter never had problem until line from resevoir tank to radiator rubbed hole and started leaking never got above 210 the low coolant light come on I added fluid to get me to next exit and fixed leak now since then it loses fluid out tube on tank and yes top hose is hard all signs for head gaskets but radiator and bottom hose stays cool to touch now I wonder if its heads or not because should still circulate the same and all hoses should atleast be somewhat the same temp any help would be great

Hey Hot Douchebag! Your the last person on this forum that needs to be ragging on others. To be quite honest your also why I don't frequent this forum anymore. You have nothing new or useful to add and most of your posts are useless. However, you feel the need to post in every thread that pops up. Dude, you need to get a life!

And then your little edit and stab, shows that you didn't read the f***in question either. You were just lookin for someone to bash on. Actions like this show who you really are. A waste of space and air!

To bluepittsrace, I'm sorry I can't diagnose your problem. But this will bump it up and get some attention for you. Good luck on getting it fixed.

Lol, internet tough guys rule:hug:

I gave the post a bump, I asked if the guy read his post, cuz it was a little difficult to read, and I edited my post to recognize that I had "missed" his thermostat had been replaced.

Ragging on the guy, hardly...do you know how the term "with all due respect" postulates a statement?...the "done been did" comment was in jest :joker: if you had a sense of humor you might have caught on to that

I NEVER look to bash on anyone, ever....WTF are you talking about? and on the topic of talkin/typing, why don't you practice refraining from the action you so seem to hate, and keep your fingers at an idle, and effectively keeping your good for nuthin mouth shut

Suck it ya lil ninny, I love you guys that talk shit, dude, you don't know who I am...but keep on with your baaaaad self, maybe the mirror will fear you:baby:

Motion to ban hot cocoal...

OP wish i had more to add but your situation sounds just like my uncle's truck when his head gaskets were done. Hopefully some of the more KNOWLEDGEABLE members will chime in.

When you did thermostats did you put them in correctly, I know that sounds silly but I have seen it way too often at work. These trucks use two different temp stats and are supposed to be positioned in such a way, now that might not be as important but getting the correct tstats and getting them in right way up can make a huge difference.

Also did you use factory parts or aftermarket chain store

And what does the coolant look like? Color wise...
Is the inside of the reservoir tank clear or starting to turn the plastic blackish

ok so today I bought a combustion leak detector from snap on with the dye that changes color tested it 3 times and shows no detection of leak so my question is still a puzzle to me what else if anything will cause system to build pressure and spit out overflow tube it will even do it cold in the mornings

I'm going to say you most likely have a head gasket problem.

Chill out, man. That post was pretty impossible to comprehend. I think that's all Jason was saying. I had a pretty difficult time understanding exactly what was going on also.

I wonder if a thermal scanner could help you isolate where the coolant is going or not going??? I mean, you could go over the whole coolant system with it, the radiator, hoses going in and out of the block and radiator and at the thermostat....I dunno if that would help at all, just a thought...from a resourceful idiot:D

And how much coolant are you leaking?

I've heard that once you get air into the system, the dmax coolant systems can be troublesome to purge it out, I personally had to go back to the dealer 2x after a coolant flush to remove trapped air from the system and add more coolant... I don't know if that would cause the hoses to get firm and coolant to purge out the overfill hose, I didn't bother to check when this happened, I'd had the truck for three days at the time...it was, and still is my first duramax

Did you drain the system completely when you did this and does your heater work when you get it warmed up? these engines can be a bastard to get air out of sometimes.

I've never had trouble bleeding the air out of a Duramax. I just pull the little bolt on top of the thermostat housing and fill it until coolant starts running out. Then I put it back in and fill the tank until it is full. Once it heat cycles once, the coolant level will drop, and I usually have to add a little. I've never had a problem doing it like that.

I have tried to bleed system a few times through the weep hole and still builds pressure as for the mention of head gasket I've done combustion test 3 times and get negative results on everyone just gets me going I've built several motors gas that is this being my first diesel sucks not knowing anything about them
