If i replace the stock radiator with one that has a cap, am i right in thinking that i do not need a pressurized overflow bottle? The system would just need a catch can for catch all the overflow when it heats up and then siphon back into rad when cooling off?

I guess it makes sense. Tank would still need to be sealed.

I'm just wondering, why?

I put a real small one from summit in ours and still used the werhli overflow for stock replacement, so it has a pressure cap on it too. Rather than buying a different bottle, i may just modify its cap to keep it from pressurizing. Worth a shot.

It will work, I'm running a inline cap/fill on mine in the upper radiator hose and just a unpressurized bottle to catch the overflow. No issues at all.
