Coolant Filtration?

Does anyone do any coolant filtration on their trucks? Just wondering if it is something that is worth investing in. The hardware seems reasonably priced, but I would hate to put it in there if it is worthless.

A hand full of guys have and I don't really see the value these ain't OTR trucks and your truck is 9 years old. They do pull a lot of crap out of the coolant though.

I have a DieselSite filter. I won it on DF, so I didn't have anything to lose. I have gotten a little trash out of it every time I've changed it.

I think its one of those longevity things. If you plan on keeping your truck a long time, I think it would be a good investment for the price.

Checked out those parts, deffinitly cheaper than the billet option. I cannot find any diagrams of how it is connected into the coolat system. Does it tee off a certain hose, or is it inline with say the heater core?

I hate to re open this thread again and beat it to death. I know most of you have bigger projects-turbo upgrades and high HP-but I am going to do this. Mostly looking for a small project. Making my own kit. What I was wondering was: does it matter how or where the bypass is located? Was thinking of only cutting one hose and putting the bypass closer to the filter head.

I made my own. The supply comes from the heater hose and the return is plumbed into the small hose going from rad to coolant tank on mine. Filter is mounted to the rear of the front cab mount. I'd put it right off the a/c bracket if nothing else was there.

Which one of the hoses going into the heater core is hot? Going into my fire wall there is a black connector and a white connector. One of the hoses has 'heater up printed on it, would that be the hot side?

I have a detroit setup somewhere. the filters have additives that are designed to break down and neutralize certain situations that can cause damage to the motor over time. designed for making the coolant life extend out for a very long time!
