LBZ: Converting 3500 DRW to 3500 SRW

What all is needed to perform this conversion besides a bed...

Is the rear usable with a non-flared bed? I thought i read somewhere the rear ends are a bit longer... Please fill me in.

It is still AAM, and I am 99% positive it is a shared axle with the single and dual wheel configurations.

dually axle is a couple inches wider, but not much. The tires will just stick out slightly with a single rear wheel bed

yes, overall, they are wider. IIRC they are 4" wider overall.

buddy of mine is debating on a new truck or converting his 07 classic to a SRW...

so we may have a good bed and a diff if anyone is interested... or even a full swap...

The offset of the rear rims would need to be calculated. Then get rims for the rear with appropriate backspacing, if you want the track width the same front to back.

Just slap whatever you got on there and see how it looks

he bought the truck to pull a big trailer... but now doesn't...

it has a 6" lift on it ...
he's looking at trading it in but i guess it would be for a NBS Gasser...

looking to save some money...
