Who all runs a georend converter? do you like how the lock up is?how is it to tow with and have you run any other converters besides stock

Who all runs a sun coast converter?do you like how the lock up is?how is it to tow with and have you run any other converters besides stock

Who all runs a ml precision? do you like how the lock up is?how is it to tow with and have you run any other converters besides stock

Yes I know there is other converters out there but these are the 3 i will be picking from

Mostly looking for info from people that tow daily and work there trucks not looking for info from twin turbo built motor race trucks.
For this post let say all converters are set at the same stall

Ive ran all three and think they are all good, some better than others tho definitely.

I had a precision before the quality went south and loved it, i had it on a twinned lbz that i raced and towed daily with. At the time it was the only converter i had driven so i thought it was the best. Looking bad, it certainly wasnt the best, but it was a very good converter. good stall for my use and coupled decent.

Ive ran and driven many of the Suncoast converters and they are good. they are great because they have a different style converter for almost any use. Their 58 is awesome with twins, their 56 is a great all around converter, and their 57 works great with stock turbos and even twin, and is a fantastic coupling converter.

Georend i feel at the moment is making the best converters. I run their K style in my white truck and it is absolutely amazing. Can spool my 5541/4202 set up in under 3 seconds, couples better than any other converter ive driven, and even allows for great street driving. And the same type of results with even stock truck. Dave over there knows what he is doing!

Another converter to take a look at is DPC. i run theirs in my black truck with twins and its awesome as well. Great all around converter. Daily driving, hot rodding, towing, etc. but it is a bit on the noisy side.

hope this helped a little.

Dose the georend and sun coast feel much different when towing. I ask because i feel a stall meant for racing wouldn't work the same as a stall meant for street/towing even if the stall speeds are the same am i wrong about this. Its the design of the vins inside that make some better then others?

The only Georend ive towed with is the K and it was never meant to tow so i cant quite give a good comparison there. Ive towed with the 56, 57, and 58 and depending on your set up they each have there pros and cons.

what is your overall goal with the truck and set up you will be running? this will help us help you more.

Mike L may be able to answer your question about towing with a georend converter much better than i can. IIRC the ML-G may be a good choice but again depends what your goals and set up will be.

My goal is to have a tow rig that is also fun to drive when not hitched to a trailer. Will spend at least half its time towing 8-10k.I plan to keep stock sized injectors and cp3. Turbo will most likely remain stock with a batmowheel. Will be running built tranny tunes. I'm think the 1057 as i really like the way it tows with a stock converter I'm just wanting one that will hold a little more power i don't think a lml converter with a stage 4 or 5 build would be smart or worth the little it would save

i think a 57 is great for stock turbo trucks. You would be pleased with that converter.

May give Mike L a call about his ML-G tho.

let me know if i can help, we are a dealer for most of those companies.

I ran a MLG on my old truck for about 30k mi. Loved the converter and most guys who rode in it said the same thing.

I ran it with a stock turbo for a while and it spooled great. Then ran it with a 66 and still spooled pretty quick. IIRC mike told me it worked really well with twin setups.

If georend helped mike with that converter it should be pretty good at towing if that's what he wanted it to be used for I know they do alot with racing as well as trucks that tow heavy daily

I doubt the main goal of the MLG was for towing.

I have a precision ml in mine and I feel for my app it's a great turbo. On the street I can spool almost instantly, boosting up I can spool instantly. Only time it's a little tight is from a dead stop just mashing it but very drivable. Lock up is great it's not harsh at all. I Havnt towed very heavy but i know plenty who do tow with it and have no issues.

Sadly me to but I hope he and others at least thought people with that stall and others like it may tow. now something like the ml-k i think towing is the last thing it was meant to do

You'd be surprised to see what some people do with their converters when they shouldn't. You listening Verlon?:hug::D

i personally owned the precision ml 1056 suncoast and ats 5 star crap lol. i like the precision the best. This was on a s475 over stock twin setup and like you i tow 3 to 4 times a week grossing 12k. It towed great with the ML, the 1056 seemed to not lock up as much as i would like and the ats well locked all the time.
