I have already PM ed Ben about this with no response. Probably not worth his time:rolleyes:

I think a lot of people are assessing the federal law right now concerning unregulated converter lock up. If for some reason the converter locked and pushed through the brakes and someone got hurt; you would be in big trouble along with anyone involved in the tampering.

Really, I didn't know anything about that. I could definitely see the trouble of having a converter lock when it wasn't supposed to but from everything I have read on the dodge forums if they forget to unlock their converters it will choke the motor down I just ASSumed that ours would be the same way. I dont care anything about locking mine only unlocking it. Plus my truck rarely sees the road.

Put a switch on the foot brake so that no matter what position the switch is in if you touch the brakes it's un-locked! Use something like a JAKE Brake switch found on the clutch pedal of big rigs.

Viola!

That's why our AlliLocker is a good investment, because if the boost or tps or mph drop below the thresholds, the converter unlocks automatically.

I can make "cheaper" unlock switches if you guys want them.. It will allow you to unlock without codes.

Let me know if that is something you are interested in.

Thanks,

Brayden

I have no idea whats involved with making a switch so the trans wont limp.

if I played around with it I might be able to figure it out, but im not going to lie to you guys and say "Ive got something in the works" or "I know how to do it, give me a bit of time".

I will see what I can come up with tonight.

what DTC is set when you unlock it manually? I assume P0743?

Sounds like what they want right there.

To go into a bit more detail...

The Tapshifters have the entire AlliLocker circuitry built in and they're programmable as well.

It's a $150.00 upgrade to the Tapshifter which saves you $300.00 off the AlliLocker.

But back to topic I just mod'd the circuit for the AlliLocker and put it on it's own circuit board.

Do you guys want a manual lockup switch as well... There will definately be a waiver required, but it's easy to add the ability to lock, unlock and then have a passthrough.

I thought the allilocker was already on its own circuit board? Or was it part of the turbo brake box thing?

It would have to be on a new PCB without the microprocessor controlling the lockup apply.

isnt that what the allilocker is...?

AlliLocker is all automatic. They're looking for something cheaper I guess, so if you want to hit a switch to lock, and hit a switch to unlock, then I can do that no problem with the existing allilocker circuit, just snip away about 80 percent of the "smarts" and leave it up to your non driving hand to lock/unlock.

I have run my truck with the signal interupted for like ten minutes and couldn't get it to limp. Maybe I'm just lucky? I know its common knowledge that its supposed to limp but I haven't had an issue yet.

I want a switch that will get me full control over lockup and un-locking of the converter, without any of the limping issues.

I'll sign all the waivers you want, just tell me where to send the payment.

Hmm.. It should set a P0743

Ours hasent either, used it about 8 times pulling and maybe once one the street testing it after i wired it and never an issue. The truck is running a 01 tcm, could that have an effect on why it dosent code. It dose what i want buy unlocking at the end of a pull to keep the engine running. I dont see the need fo a straight manual lock up switch, something like the ally locker or co pilot should work automatically with out the worry of a switch. I think a manual switch is the only way to get it to unlock in time to keep from stalling while pulling though. maybe im wrong?
