Converter in LML

Searching for the best suncoast converter option for a LML running billet s480 over stock. Want to have a billet stator. Suncoast suggested the 1058 but I read on here somewhere the 1058 didn't work well in the LML. The truck will be used for daily driving and some drag racing.

The Goerend R converter was designed for the lml by Mikel l (I think) and has a billet stator 2200 stall. That's what I have in my trans and I like it.

If you want to buy suncoast then why not call them and ask what they recommend? They've been doing a lot of testing with Evan and others and can sell you what you want. Or just call Evan and he'll talk it over with you.:thumb:

1058 is way too loose. I had it in my truck and after Rob tuned it, I could blow right through it.

There are a lot of knowledgable people here that know a lot more about converters than me. The reason I'd like to stick with suncoast is that's the best brand I'm able to get through my business.

Who did you speak to? Not throwing stones, but there are only a few people at suncoast who know converter applications well.

Edit: forgot to mention my personal experience with a 1054 in a LMM. It does ok for the most part, but it really doesn't couple well enough for a fast spooling hard hitting VVT.... JMO

How would a 1055 work in this application? This converter was suggested to me today.

1055 is even looser than a 1058. 1058 is 2300 stall and 1055 is 2500 i believe .

I was afraid of that because he also suggested the 1058. I'm in a really hard spot trying to find out what converter to put in this application because the company that is telling me this should know what to put in this transmission.

Quit talking to random sales people and call Evan or Mike. One phone call would have completely solved this issue for you.

So what ended up happening here? Scheduled to get my transmission rebuilt next week and trying to decide on convertor.. Definitely want something tighter than this stock one and my builder recommended the 1058 and I don't think I want that..

Use the 1078. That's Evans convertor. They offer a 1074 as well. It has a little less flash. Tighter in other words.

I have experience with the Limitless Converter by Evan / Suncoast. This converter gets my vote hands down the best converter I have ever driven.
