best of both worlds

i just traded up to a 2012 2500hd silverado from a gasser the 12 came with a B&W turnover and my in my old truck i had a superglide fifth wheel which i kept but not wanting to give up the B&W with a little fabricating i installed the superglide on the frame first then was able to bolt the B&W mounts on the outside of the glide mounts they use the same bolt holes the superglide comes completly out of the bed also leaving it flat other than a couple of holes in the bed it works great throw in a bed mat if needed. Best of both worlds

But a slider hitch on a newer one is a big no no. My old camper required me to have a slider. My new one will take out my tail gait if it slid back. So I sold my slider cause I did not want the risk of it. I don't think they make a sliding ball.
how is that possible?? I have a SB with a superglide slider, and a 2012 5er, as fact I see lots of new trucks and brand new trailers with sliders and they are ok. You might have a extended pin box that you did not know about..

extended pin box and sliders do not go together.. no reason for a normal pin box to ever hit the tailgate when slid back, their is less room when the trailer is on a 90 in the bed but the longer pin box can also cause fitment issues here.
Was you bed clearance above 5 inches?? the lower the pin box the less room you also have
