Did a little work on my truck yesterday. Took out the jump seat and put in a console. It was a little more involved because I have the floor shifter for my transfer case. But after a couple of modifications I got it all back together.

Cant see your pics, but i appreciate your work,

I did the same thing minus the floor shifter in my 04 Z71. Had to change the glove box also to accomodate the console. I love the Console's in these trucks. So i made sure my Dmax came with one.

nice job, ive been wanting to go that.

did you cut the floor shifter cover in half?

Pretty much. I also cut the metal bracket that the shifter lever is housed in and pulled out the small rubber bushing at the base of the lever. This allows the shifter lever to lean farther to the left. Then I put the bushing in on the other side of the lever to keep it leaning to the left. I cut the console a little to allow for movement of the lever then trimmed the shifter boot. I thought it worked out pretty well. I thought that I would have to bend the shifter lever at first and was pleasantly surprised to find out I could get plenty of movement out of the lever with a couple of small mods.

Good job. Came out looking nice. The floor shifter looks like it would have come from the factory that way. :thumb:

Did you hook up the rear audio and does the air flow back through those vents now?

No the air does not flow through the rear vents. I would think that you could get it to with the correct duct piece's under the dash. I am going to hook up the rear audio, I'm waiting for a harness as we speak.
