It is, it'll be done quicker than you expect. Plus as you start seeing it get close it feels easier and easier, at least for me.

Yeah I’m pretty excited, I haven’t really driven this thing in over a year. Even after I put in my rebuilt trans/clutch/t-case I only got a lap around the block.

Wow, anyone seen this before?

Looks like some crazy cavitation, or somehow some foreign material got in it. Block and front cover seem fine though.

Cavitation erosion is normal in high mileage components. That’s why I was asking about the coolant, old coolant can speed up the process.

Gotcha. Given the condition of this housing, any other components I should look into?

Also, any brand better than the other for coolant or just as long as it’s dexcool?

Cat elc is what I prefer, or Rottela. Any elc will be fine just don’t forget to change once in a while... People think elc means never again:rofl:

I’m having a hard time figuring this out... switching from my Cali junk to federal, when I put the federal y bridge in will I need to do something with the intercooler piping?

I decided to pull and redo the cup that I forgot the copper washer in.

This is after a full week of drying. How’s the pattern look? It doesn’t look anything like what came out.

Given the way that the loctite broke off it looks like it only sealed to the further out dirty part?

After this weekend I’m going to have to tap out.

I’ve flown/drove 700 miles to get to the truck for the past 5 weekends in a row and I just can’t keep going.

I’d like to get the top end buttoned up from injectors, water pump and balancer in, front stack back in, and wiring harness.

I’ll tow it to a shop to have the down pipe, up pipe, exhaust, lift pump, and a few little things like replace a wheel stud and pull the CV shafts. Depending how far I get the front stack might have to be something for the shop too.

Oh and maybe pay them to flash the programming too

Okay next question...

I’m using LDS new aftermarket high pressure lines.

This is one of the lines from the bag labeled cyl 2&7...

What am I doing wrong that it’s not close to fitting?

I tried cyl #4 line (on cyl #4) and it’s a little closer, but still not going to fit.

Good call, doesn’t look like they fit either.

Not sure what’s going on.
