One tire engaging in the front on the slicks pitches me sideways pretty good even on a good launch. Seems drag guys say it's a huge no no to do a front locker, what is the reason? Hard to steer? Most of the time mine switches from one to the other or both to one. Never does the same thing. Just curious, and if there's any other tips that might help I'm all ears.

Put a limited slip in there, problem solved.

Like stated, you bust an axle and into the wall or next lane over you go. The likelyhood of breaking an axle increases with a locker, specially with you having a stick.

Limited slip gets you traction back and if something breaks, you will over power the limited slip and keep straight

I ran a Eaton e locker in the front of mine. It launched perfectly straight. I barely had to hold on to the wheel. Right or wrong it worked for me, never broke anything, and the truck launched good. If I was building another truck for the track I'd use another e locker.

I dunno last passes I made in my truck was 2010....they may have quit making them, might be able to find a used one or buy a arb air locker. I can tell you don't weld the front. With the elocker engaged I couldnt turn even the slightest corner.

I vaguely remember reading that they still sell the one for the Dodge though, and it's the same.

9.25 IFS and dodge 9.25. Guys have swapped lockers between them - so I've read. I have never cracked one open first hand.

Sooooo apparently me and the other guy was wrong. I guess the AAM 9.25 for gm and mopar are essentially the same. And just read a thread on another forum that somewhat kinda confirmed.
