So i either bent a rod or pushed a cup maybe? I thought my injectors were the reason behind the white smoke and rich fuel smell as i just freaking ordered a new set  should have done the comp test before i ordered them but o well.

Plan is to find a new rig or just a ride to borrow and pull the valve cover on the drivers side and see if the cup pulls on 4 or 6 if there seated then im probably screwed :(

I may put it back together and limp it around and build a spare motor i have not sure though broke my motor mount and cracked my oil pan and hurt then the comp test all in a week lolz! My list for the build will be simple: carillos, screw in cups+rebuild the heads, main studs,50% injectors i ordered already, new stock cp3 for the valley, and maybe some ppe manifolds.

Would you guys reuse my pistons that have 245k on them? Or get new?

I've been driving my truck every day for 3+ years with worse numbers than that :thumb: it smokes white like a 3.0 puller and misfires like crazy until it warms up. Somehow it's still going.

Mine misfires for couple seconds when its cold. Like i said i may just drive it till i build another motor but we'll see

You may have a bad head gasket. I had one that was similar to that. Once some heat got into the motor everything sealed up.

Not good jake. My super bent rod that broke part of the skirt off my piston was 250psi too. It misfired like a mofo till it warmed up though

Ya could be a headgasket but with studs i would find it harder to believe to be one but it is possible

Pull your oil fill cap and check for pulsating blow by. If its a steady stream or none at all then you may have some valve damage.

i have just little bits of blow nothing outta the ordinary though, that's one of the first things i checked out

James ya sucks im torn between trying to just tear down the drivers side and see if the cup pulls or just pull the damn thing and check it all out. If it's just a cup im not sure if id just rebuild the heads put the screw in cups in and studf it back in or just build it and be done  also mine wont start below 35* without being plugged in lol if it does it misses like a bitch till she gets little warmer

Hey jake If u were closer u could use my little s10 blazer till you fix your truck

Thanks for the offer Chris  i should have a rig to drive soon though :thumb:

Yeah buddy, id like to think its a cup but if your loosing that much compression aand it were a cup you should be building quite a bit of pressure in your cooling system or water shooting out of the cyl with the glow plug out of it.

Are your pistons delipped and shaved?

Yep lbz rods i didnt make to much hp imo but i did hit 1373 tq which may have been the rods undoing. It may be a cup still or headgasket but im just not seeing as much pressure in the cooling system as i should for losing 50-70psi

Also would you guys reuse a crank that's got 245k? It was balanced 4xk miles ago just debating on if i need some other parts
