Compression on LBZ

I checked my balance rates this morning (truck was cold) and my number 8 injector is at 4.8 to 4.9!!! Have a haze on truck when cold. On the edge. I was late for work didn't have time to hook up my V2. I'm worried that my motor is hurt. Or about to be hurt. Or I may have a bad batch of fuel as this has happened to me before. I always run FPPF additive... I'm gonna do a compression test this weekend. So anything below 300 is bad news right? I may need to get a deal to look inside the cylinder to see if a hole or crack is happening. I'm nervous but it's either built motor time or stripping it down to stock and running the truck across the auction block...

Ugh. Gotta pay to play.

Guess I'll know this weekend :-(

You'd know it if there was a hole in the piston... Look for an odd compression cycle more then numbers. If there all average in numbers I wouldn't worry to much.

Ive had a 5.5+ rate in my lly before and it was just an injector failing. My 40% overs haze at idle in colder weather. Seems normal to me. I would do the CP test to help you feel better then replace that injector.

Cool... What I'll do then is swap injectors round and see if it follows. If it does I'll run to the wife's work and grab a new injector.

So injector number #8 goes from +4.2 to +4.8 when the truck is cold.

Once truck gets warmed up it's 0.1 to 1.9 if that...

Explanations?

I'm no injector expert

Sure sounds like low compression. Once the piston and rings heat up enough to grow large enough to give you a little compression. Low compression will show bad balance rates.
