compression height and pistion to wall clearance

I was wondering if anyone knows if theres a defence on compression height between lb7 pistons and lbz pistons or any differences in them. Also trying to figure out how much piston to wall clearance I need for forged arias pistons. Were going for over 1000 on fuel and 1300+ on spray so there going to see some heat.

The pistons should have a built in piston to wall clearance or manufacturer recommend clearance with them. I have heard of some running as much as.006.

I am running .005 on stock piston/rings. After seeing Jeffs engine apart and the hp you want to run I would go at least what he's running for ptw clearance.

Mahle recommends .008 too, though it's a different alloy (socal spec) which just tells me they have no real clue, they just threw a number out there. I had no choice but to run .009 - .0095 this time around because we found the bores were out of round...all of them...

I'm going to start with. 008 or 9 this time then well see how it looks when it gets tore down next year. That way I an take. 002 or 3 out next time and use the same block at least one more time

I run .013 and it was just scuffing but I don't run a intercooler. Clearance is your friend.

I would really read what Jeff posted. I talked to them awhile back and they even said to run anywere from .012 to .015 and more if to be safe. With Mahle you can run alot tighter.

He should be fine at .008. I'm sure BES will measure the piston and it will tell them what it should be. If Ryan told them what he is doing with the truck they will get it were it needs to be.
