How does he boost lower the timing? I though more boost would help raise dynamic compression so you would have a charge that ignites earlier wouldnt this mean your if your timing is more advanced with boost you will be getting way to much excess pressure before TDC.

At high RPM, we cannot spray the fuel in as early as is necessary to give use max pressure from 30-120 deg ATDC. It will rattle (partial combustion) or burst (unstart) if try to. Both compression and boost assist us in getting more advance, but with the boost, it's also more oxygen. Boost is WAY more effective at making HP than compression is. It allows more timing, faster burn, and it allows more fuel. Compression only allows more timing and faster burn time.

Or so has been my experience. Your results may vary.
