I have a like new EPR S366/S480 compound turbo kit for sale if you would be interested in selling the a5k and going with a 66/80mm twin kit. It is a complete kit and would probably save you tons of time and money trying to piece together a kit. Just figured i would let you know and might take the a5k in on trade if you were interested in my kit

this is what I would do. The 66/80 will spool faster than the a5k/? Plus, its bolt on ready to go:thumb:

Well I know that my a5k is a t3 I don't know how much that will affect anything I'm just completely new to the cOmpound charger setups

It would work and you won't have any problems, Only reason I would go t4 next time is I like to change it up, and would do an external gate vs. the internal that my 66 had

What power were you pushing with that kit?Its tempting but also having a nice big set of twins making big power is tempting too lol. The fabrication isn't a problem I have a awesome guy that can fab this stuff up for me at a very cheap price

you'd get close to 1k on that setup, maybe not quite, but you could always change up the low pressure easily at this point. What are the specs on the 80mm?

I would keep the piping the same size as each outlet and step up i you need to to fit the next in line. I wouldnt ever neck anything down to create a restriction. :thumb:

I have a stock lbz motor so never turned it up much past 600rwhp but this is one of Trents Big Twin Kits so the potential for 800-1,000hp is there. The kit you are looking into building is so big imo there is no point unless you are wanting to make sled puller type horsepower or are looking to beat dmitri millard on a dyno:roflmao: A little bit smaller kit is going to spool much much faster and be alot more streetable! 66/80mm is probably the most common race twin kit there is, its a proven combo. Only more common would be a stock/475 but thats way too small for what your looking for. I can make you a screaming deal cause i have my truck for sale and would like to sellthis kit and sell my truck with a single on it.

Well I figured I might as well go with what I had and build off it since I'll be dropping some serious coin on this motor build anyways lol plus this 71 spooled VERY fast I made sure I wasn't gonna have a big laggy turbo on the street

I mean when you compound it with a huge charger it is going to be extremely laggy, the 71mm as a single shouldn't be laggy at all right now, but in a huge twin kit yes it will be laggy

Its not really a good spool up video, it was my second time in it and I rolled into it very slow, I wasn't sure what to expect lol

Cant compare ball bearing chargers to journals cause they spool faster as is. I would just hate to see someone spend alot of time and money building a twin kit for a street truck (Unless it isn't) and not be happy because it takes a 1/8 mile to light the chargers lol

I have yet to see a ball bearing charger spool any faster than a journal bearing charger, its a myth in my opinion, but it will handle the abuse for a longer period of time, and even that is debatable. Ill save the money and go journal any day of the week.

OP, You have a 71 as a single and it spools quickly, no sense in getting rid of it. Use it as the high pressure and throw a large charger in front of it. If anything you're going to spool the 71 faster in a compound setup.

Thats my thinking with a batmo plus pro fabs log headers and up pipes it was a hell of a lot of fun as a single and by what everyone says is there is only benefit to runnings compounds and I see a perfect opportunity with a motor build right aroun the corner

Shit i didnt even read your sig. LOL You have all kinds of upgrades to spool a large twin kit!!! With a batmo and headers and up pipes will help alot in spooling. I know with out a built motor and headers etc... i dont think you would be happy street driving a twin kit that large. And IMO Journal bearing turbos do spool faster, at least everyone i have ever seen does.

Lol Well my build is also gettin a SoCal 3388 cam, 100% over injectors, an a different intercooler while I'm at it so I always thought it should be ok :)

Did you talk with Guy about that cam in a compound setup? I dont think that is the right one for that. Just saying check for sure.
