Took my grille guard off today and wanting to go for a new look and I'm thinking of either color matching the front bumper and fender flares and getting a roll pan for the rear or painting the front bumper black and just keep the frontier pipe bumper on the rear. Either way I want to get rid of the last piece of chrome on my truck which is the front bumper. I'd like to do the color match but I'm having a hard time deciding on how I should do the front bumper and how it would look. Should I paint the whole thing red or just the top cap and paint the bumper itself and air dam black or do the bumper and top cap red and leave the air dam black? I'm leaning toward the last one but I'm having a hard time visualizing it so any pics or Photoshop or opinions are appreciated.

Here's what the front end looks like right now. If I color match the flares then the top cap must be color matched as well because it buts right up to the front flare.

I like the way yours looks, but it looks like you left the chrome part and that's what I'm trying to get rid of on mine. I'm just having a hard time deciding if I should have it painted red or black.

Your truck looks great:thumb: I've thought about changing the front clip on mine to the SS style since I have to get a new bumper anyways (i have a grille guard on it now which is what the holes you see in the pic are for) and they'll already be painting so the cost shouldn't be much more. But at the same time you don't see half as many of the 01-02's and I kinda like the exclusivity of that.

Well since I have to get a new bumper anyways due to the holes from the grille guard I'm just gonna bust out the duplicolor rattle cans on it this weekend and shoot it red first and see how it looks and if I don't like it ill sand it down and shoot it black. How hard can it be? :roflmao:

what brand paint did you use? did you clear coat over it?

a local body shop did the bumper and mirrors, and i know they clear them. i painted the grill and used duplicolor rattle can and then used duplicolor clear rattle can and it has held up just as well. on plastics you have to use a adhesive promoter i believe also made by duplicolor and all can be bought at auto zone
