It's cold here and have noticed when the truck is cold it idles like a lope and hazes for about 5-10 minutes. Any ideas? I also have the lbz reg. And haven't had tunes made for it yet that does play a role in it I'm sure but it's worse when it's colder out.

your LBZ reg isnt playing nice with the cold. initially you should get some noise, clatter and a bit of loping for the first few seconds of a really cold start up but should clean up and level out within a min or so. loping for 5-10min is not normal

I know of putting a lbz pump with lb7 regulator into lb7 been never heard of guys using an lbz regulator on an lb7. I would assume it will cause issues without being tuned. Even using an lbz pump with lb7 reg can cause a few issues without tuning.

I have an lbz sportsman pump on my lb7 and the tune has been adjusted. The day I picked it up from the shop it was in the 40s and had no issues. Every day since has been in the 20s or lower and i get the same lope until it warms up off of cold start then it's fine. If I have the block heater plugged in it lopes for less than a minute on cold start. Once it's above 90 degrees coolant temp it's fine.

my truck was outside last night and it was 35* this morning. i have no glow plugs (has deletes in it), coughed a touch and then smoothed right out.

a log watching rail with actual vs desired during the lope would tell you right away if its the reg or not

Not really. I know guys who run the tuning for an lbz reg on an lb7 reg and have zero issues. Pump just won't hit desired and vice versa. Don't think the lope has much to do with it other than lift pump pressure is probably all over the place when the voltage fluctuates (which could also be the culprit) bc of the glow plugs and intake air heater.
