I know guys that have gotten tickets for that in Texas. So I would imagine guys could get them anywhere. Guess it depends on the fuzz. But that was too funny. God there are a lot of idiots out there. On both sides.

yeah I just meant everywhere. I used to have a Fummins and it rolled a lot of smoke and I got pulled over one time for just that and the cop said to me " theres no law you broke but he said it smoked so much that I had to wait to go through the intersection" this was also 8 years ago. but I live in a rural area.

I got a pretty good laugh out of it. I hate the coal rolling trend as much as anyone but Colbert handled it pretty well.

He is a master of satire for sure.

"You see that, green air crowd, if you're against rolling coal then you hate black people."

I got pulled for excessive smoke during some tune testing. I still don't know where he popped out from, it was a traffic free open stop light. But anyway he pulled me and said that while I never broke a speed limit, any tail pipe emissions lasting longer than 5 seconds was a ticketable offense. I explained I was trying to clean it up and find the median between a quick launch and a smoke free launch and by some stroke of luck he let me go and said don't get caught again haha

don't fool yourself, you are still in tier 2 I believe, just because you don't have a cat or egr doesn't mean your truck has no emissions requirements. you still have to be within NOx and particulate matter specification. this bs started back in like '95 or '96 when mechanical engines started going electronic.

94 is when cats started on diesel pickups(DODGE and GM, FORD managed to squeek by in late 94 with the first powerstrokes not needing a cat), and GM came out with an electronically controlled diesel. Detroit Diesel came out with the first electronic diesel back around 88 or so IIRC due to emissions for class 8 trucks. Diesel emissions first started around 88, and agaian in 92 when the 1st round of reduced sulphur diesel came out and took out a bunch of STANADYNE injection pumps in FORDS and GM's.

What just bugs the crap out of me is the Prius drivers are clean coal rollers, they forget where the electricity comes from, coal fired plants.

The electricity for what??? To power the car? It comes from regenerative braking, and the gas engine.....not from power plants.

Learn how a Prius works before you argue against it.

Then the cost of the manufacturing of the battery (more coal fired electricity) then disposal of some extremely toxic batteries and this is what you call green...

in reality, the prius batteries are lasting well over 200,000 miles and 10+ years.

And NiMH batteries can be recycled pretty easily/safely.

I know we love to try to milk that argument (hybrid cars are in fact "dirtier" than because of the extra manufacturing and disposal), but in reality, its probably a wash/about equal in the end....

Dont take this as me being a Prius advocate or "silly liberal tree hugger". I could care less and would never buy one/want to be seen in one. I think they are dumb, boring as hell to drive, and the people who own Prius's are even more insufferable than the cars themselves. But im also not ignorant/close-minded to what reality is, even if its not what I "want to be the truth".

Does a Prius at any point ever get plugged in to charge?

And is still a wash when you consider alleged government subsidy of all these hybrids?

NO.

"alleged". Prove it. I mean prove it with something concrete, none of these bullshit tin-foil-hat conspiracy theory/satire websites.

So a prius is 110% self contained.

I can't prove it, nor do I have any conspiracy theories. I said alleged for a reason. I've heard that they are heavily subsidized from a wide variety of people but never seen any articles to support said rumor.
