A recent chain of events at my job means i will be away from home two weeks at a time. It actually normal, just that my job has been located near my house for the last two and a half years. I was informed this last week. Yesterday afternoon a guy comes and knocks at my door. He was offering a home security system, $1200 worth of home security stuff for free and all i have to do is pay $50 a month and keep a small sign in my yard. Its a promotional deal so they can get some business in my town since it is a non-soliciting city. Pretty funny how things just come together sometimes.

Man I used to say I'd never want or need an alarm in my house. well got married, got a house out in the country then started traveling for work so to comfort her we got one. 2 weeks later the house was broken into while the wife and i were both gone and not a thing was missing. muddy footprints showed where they broke in one door and ran out the other as soon as the alarm went off. I'll always have one from now on.

Its good and bad..

Just make sure the 'alarm guy' isnt checking your house out to see if you have one, so his friends can come back later..
