Im going to be building a truck and am wanting to run coilovers in the front and a ladder bar with coilovers in the rear. Who is running this setup? What shocks are you using?

A double adjustable shock like qa1 is your best bet. There are cheaper versions of them, no idea on how well they do or last

With how heavy the truck is what spring do i need? My last truck had QA1s on the front and the definitely worked well. My guess is that by losing the torsion bars and leaf springs Ill save a few hundred pounds.

depends on the ride height you want. one shock you can run a 900lbs spring, the other you can only run a 800lbs spring (spring length is the killer here).

I have Vikings double adjustable (knockoffs) with 900lb 12" springs. If I did it again I would do 800lb 10" springs. But so far so good!

I have qa1's double adjustable on the front and rear of mine. I love them, running 900 lb springs on the front. Not sure of the part numbers, they are some that Dustin had at his shop.

Call DB Rods in Austin Tx area 512-809-1854. I believe guys name is John . They sell a setup for duramaxs. It's what I'm running . I also run S&W HD 36" ladder bars with coil overs . I'm happy with the setup front and back .

408.luke was the guy who worked with dbrods on their kit, IIRC.

James is pretty much the expert on these now, too. He has a lot of good ideas.

It feels pretty good but I would like a little lighter spring because my truck is lighter then most being a RCLB. Also shorter so I would have some adjustment up and down. I can go up but no farther down.

What word you call yours in inches dropped from factory height. Can you get a shorter spring but keep the same spring #

The kit that DB Rods sells comes with 2 different spring seats (cups) that the spring sits in . 1 is for a lower ride height the other is for a higher ride height with the same coil spring , but by no means designed for lifted trucks . I don't even run away bars and my truck corners great I'm guessing because of the adjustable dampening . I have a set of Helwig bars for it 1 1/2" front and 1 5/16 for rear IIRC but decided against them due to trying to stay as light as possible .

When did you get your coilovers from them? The last time 408 Luke was on was well over a year ago and he could never really say if they were even available or how to order.
