This kind of thread really should be settled through Private Messages.

But since it does have some tech content, it should be renamed, then left standing. But I forgot how to change thread titles.

"CNG Mileage Debate"

:eek:fftopic: This is why I like this forum, if this was DP they would have closed the thread already.. Thanks Pat.:eek:fftopic:

Ok back on topic... I would love for Jeff to start a thread with a how to or at least a parts list of the CNG mod.

Cng

Sorry Pat for the rant. The system works very well just like it says. Marc Deluca fuel products is the maker. He designed the kit and sells it. I just got in touch with him and we made it work on mine for the challenge. I want NO credit for the system! Its all his(Marc) I just you and learned from him. Ok now for how it works. It pretty much works like propane but with a little bit different regulator's. It fumagates the intake when the motor starts to make boost. When you go to positive boost it pulls cng into the intake. I was running about 1 to 1 in the event and got 38 driving normal. I had gotten 55 mpg testing but was runing 3 to 1 cng to diesel. If anyone has any questions just give me a call 740-808-6728 and i'll try to help. Jeff

Might wanna check the kit price first..

A little sore about something?
Axe to grind?

Yes the kit is not cheap. Neither are these trucks.

If someone has a NG well on there property like many in the Midwest and Northeast do the gas itself is free! I dont have a well on my property but they are drilling more everyday. There are several people around me that bought CNG Honda Civics with in the garage fueling stations.
Not Cheap!

But the gas itself is free! They have meters and so they can be billed for road tax. They still get the alternative fuel tax break.

Not cheap but money ahead in the long run.

It is not for everyone, but great for some.

No axe to grind. Just a bit more info is needed that's all.

Just don't get all excited about it being the next great thing.

I have NG plumbed in my house. It's not free, but it's cheap. However, it will cost you between $2500 and $4k for a pump to get it to the psi that is needed for auto uses. Pumps at approx .5 gallons an hour. Add that to the price of the kits... This isn't a $400 deal like his propane set up. The cost of the entire set up doesn't compare to a propane unit. Not even close.

35mpg+ is great, wish I could get it. Especially when I can hit a fuel station in Mexico and pick up #2 for around $2 a gallon. Talk about low cost per mile!

If I could justify/afford the price of the kit + a tank + a pump, you can bet your azz I would have it under my truck too!

The tanks are different sizes as they are used on different vehicles. They range from Honda to Chevy & Ford pickups. They are rated at 3600 psi. There are 16 tanks for sale on ebay for sale,ALONG with a Phill system. This is the system that you have installed to run CNG at your home. You can also put in "CNG VEHICLES" & see alot of different vehicles for sale. A wonderful site that has alot of answers is: www.cngchat.com Howard

all i know is propane has a larger SG. propane has a lot of additives
SG of propAne is 1.2 and NG is normally 0.65

think of useing a NG BBQ VS a Propane BBQ

ya its off topic:angel:
