Does anyone know what kind of clutches are used in ppe stage 6 kits? I see the stage 4 and 5 run alto reds and koleens. All I get out of ppe is that the stage 6 is "proprietary altos" just wondering if any one knew what they were exactly or had feedback.

I do. I tested them. They are outdated now.

Are they worth a damn? Do they have any issues? Any better than the altos in the stage 5s or no?

I know lately a lot of clutches have came out can't seem to follow them all lol

NFG--Alto reds are better than these. I personally prefer the Suncoast exclusive Raybestos waffle pattern C3/4s, Raybestos GPZ C2s and either there latest version C1s, or the tried and proven Alto C1s.

I assume the trans does not care what kind of clutches are in each pack as long as they are set up properly? Like if you ran the 16 single sided alto c1s, 7 gpz in the c2, and so on...?

If that's the case, what are the best c3/c4 clutch options?

The transmission may not care until you start applying big power--it'll let you down with the wrong clutches, no matter if they're set up properly INITALLY. When they shrink, delaminate, just flat fail you'll realize the mistake of just any clutches. You might call my friend Andrew at Suncoast for his advice.

If you're asking if all the clutch packs have to use the same brand and composition, then no, they don't.
