I've been reading all about dual disc clutches trying to figure out which one to get for my Duramax. I want something that has smooth engagement and can tow big loads and lasts a long time and I don't do any competition of any kind. I run only a mild Predator tune (40hp) but I've ruined a couple single disc SMF clutches and I don't want to mess with single discs any more.

Nearly as I can tell here's what's available:

South Bend
Ceramic Button with or without sprung hub
Ferramic Button with or without sprung hub
slave cyl not included

Valair
Organic with sprung hub - $2095
Ceramic button with unsprung hub - $1790
No kevlar available
slave cyl included

KPP
Organic with unsprung hub - $1250
Kevlar with unsprung hub - $1450
slave cyl not included

I'm really thinking I don't want a Ceramic or Ferramic due to the grabbiness so that rules out South Bend.

The KPP is priced nice but I'm worried about not having a sprung hub. Isn't a sprung hub important when you do away with the DMF?

Valair doesn't offer kevlar but they say the organic holds up well. I'd really rather have kevlar than organic though.

Does anyone make a dual disc with kevlar and a sprung hub?

If not I guess I'll have to go with the Valair. Any reports on them?

Which South Bend are you talking about? The ceramic button or the ferramic? Sprung hub or unsprung? Are you saying takeoffs are smooth even with a big trailer? Because everything I've heard is that with those materials the clutch is kind of either out or in and it's hard to slip it. Not true? Also I can't find them on your website. Do you have a link?
