I was wondering if you gents could suggest products/methods for a thorough cleaning of the cloth seats and carpet in our pickups. I have used my truck for work since 05 when I bought it. I am a pretty clean guy and picky so I'm hoping you all can come up with something good. I have an industrial quality carpet cleaning/steam cleaner that I've used to shampoo everything multiple times. It just doesnt seem to stay clean for very long. I've thought about just converting to leather.... And just replacing the carpet. Easier?

I took my carpet out at 85k miles and shampoo'd it for a couple hours. Idk if thats overkill or what...to replace it i think it was like 250 bucks or so.

Thanks Steve. For 250 I may just replace the carpet. I've always wanted leather. If I was to go this route, what would you guys recommend. Find a wrecked truck with desired front seat/center console configuration? I've never liked my split bench setup. Although sure comes in handy on road trips. I'll say no more.

You can get way nicer leather aftermarket. Whole interiors leather with suede inserts whatever color you want are around 1100 IIRC

Call your local home carpet cleaner. Find one with a truck mount, not a portable. A few tips to ensure a great job:
1 pull your seats out- many are big guys and have a hard time getting under the seats and stuff. It's easier to clean with them out.
2 have a hottie in a bikini laying in the sun nearby. He'll spend a lot more time cleaning the truck if she is visible while he works
3- schedule near the end of the work day and have a cooler of cold beer nearby and offer him some
4- talk about vans.
