Clean Stock LB7 OS

Does anyone have a known good clean LB7 OS that works with and Edge Insight?

I have been struggling with my Edge Insight and after a couple of updates I was told I need at 03 or newer OS for the Insight to communicate properly.

I have my stock Cali 2003 LB7 OS, and I found a good Federal 2003 OS that I based all my tunes on. They are at home though, so send me a PM tonight if no one has the files on hand.

Not sure if it matters, but I have the digital climate control. Neither OS has the PTO / high idle programmed in either.

No, I don't have an Insight (and don't know anyone with one to test for you). But you said a 2003+ OS was needed, and I do have a 2003 OS.

What year? Insights wont work on an 02 truck if it has an 01 OS loaded into it.

This is a late 2004 OS (9044) converted to dsp5 and serial data. I ran a script so its all stock. This is the base for a tune in my buddies ECSB, LS model. His monitor works just fine with the tunes.

01 GMC but I have tried pretty much every LB7 OS with VIN's corresponding to the OS and with my 01 OS. I have full flashed my truck about 30 times in the last week trying to get my Insight to work as I have spent too much money on it and accessories for it. :cussing:

I know there was one, maybe a couple of early OS' that the insight won't work on, I wonder if its a problem with the ECM itself? I thought I read where Tony had mentioned it, earlier this year

I might have to use my LB7 stand alone ECM flasher and load in a new tune on my back up ECM that I already have licensed.

Well I finally got it too work! But I think I bricked a ECM in the process. :thumb:

03 OS with 03 VIN after swapping ECM's and then bricked that one then swapped back and it worked.

So you bricked the spare ecm but now the original one works with the insite monitor?

Now I'm getting fed up! So I go to reflash my new tune in and my 2nd ECM acts locked also! As if the Insight is leaving something in the way of the flashing process. man this sucks I might have 2 paper weights now.

Do they make a pass through that you use? I've always just unplugged it with the truck off and it will flash fine

Nope no pass through here. Does yours ask you to verify your VIN when you plug it back in and start it up?

We have the same equipment the dealer does. We can try to reflash it to the latest updates with the tech 2. I can also try it with just your ecm on my bench top.

Its never asked me about the VIN? Just have to enter GM setup and turn custom tunes back on???
