I see that you guys favor the GT series turbos. My question is: Have either of you guys ran a Cheetah? Why would slowlmm and mmlmm take their 4094s off and switch to a cheetah turbo? Can the 4094 make more peak hp than the cheetah?

Heres a 4094 tryin to spool

And another.......

Both guys have a great tuner and tweak on their trucks daily, both claim GT4094 spools like crap at 2000ft and below. Wont it be x3 up here in the clouds at 5200-6500ft elevation?

I spooled a GT4202R at 8,900' DA in Bandimere Colorado last year without changing the tune significantly from sea level. Only when the DA went up past 10,000' did we need a small "assist" to get it lit. I probably could have "tuned" it out, but could not take the chance since we only got 1 try at it.

A GT4202 is quite a bit larger than a 4094.

No charger kit out there for our trucks will spool easier than the stock charger, so if that's your goal, stay stock.

My GT42 lights about 2400rpm. When it does hold the hell on!

I have been suprised how easy it lights honestly. I can slow bring the rpm up to 4000 with the clutch in and it will build 15psi. My engine is far from stock though.

i think the reason why some people are choosing to go with the cheetah and some are even switching to the cheetah is because of the tunning options with it. there is no doubt that the gt series turbos are all great turbos. pat has proven this better than anyone else. with that being said i dont think that any of them have the streetabilty of the cheetah's. you can tune a cheetah just as much as you can a stock charger. maybe better if you know what you are doing. i would really like to see wee what pat couuld do with a cheetah. i dont know if pat has tunned for anyone that has a cheetah but i would be willing to send him something to play with ;)

My thought:

Ok stock LMM turbo = fun, but not that fun

4094 = A F'n blast. This turbo did take a bit to spool up. It wasn't really that bad, just coming from the VVT it seemed like forever, once you get used to that its stuck n your head. At the track I like this turbo, Id prolly go with a 4294 but the reason I chose the 40 was cause I tow sometimes and figured the 42 would be a hair to big for that. The 40 on the street was good, a little laggy, unless you're on the freeway, then that sucker was a blast. I recommend the 40 for drag racing and still maintaining dirveability, how ever on the city streets you have to keep in mind its just a bit laggy for that (but who races on the streets anyway ;) )

My thought on Braydens turbo = Although I haven't had one yet, I wanna try one. I am not looking for 700-800hp, I basicl want what I had with the 4094 only a little bit more resopnsive. I think this turbo is the ticket. easy tuning, good with towing what I tow, fun at the track, yada yada yada. But still I have not tried it yet and when I do I'll let you know.

NWT, I think in my application and your buddies LLY, Braydens turbo would be a good setup. This is coming from what I have heard and what I think, remember, I have yet to try one out. A GT series turbo will still be ok at high alt. Some tuning will get that sucker dialed in just like if it was at sea level. A little fuel will lite a big turbo....

Hope my info can help some, not so much tech, just regular talk from my mouth lol

There are no commercial aftermarket intakes that fix the LLY compressor efficiency issue.

I thought PPE sold one? What do you suggest?

its going to come down to your tuneing driver and what not the 40-94 takes geeting used to in diffrent ways as does a cheetha they both have there advantages and disadavantages so far i like both. I took my 40-94 off to comapre both. i will say like mike did the 4094 when it lights will shake the truck and moves. my cheetha runs very well to but dosent quite have the raw grunt tht the 40-94 does. but hopefully will be as fast at the track. its close but hasent beat it yet. for more daily driven then race you may want the cheetha if more race then the 40-94 hope this helps a little.
