I don't know if you can but you could get creative with some transparent blue paint I would think. Were did you get your new over lay? I have been looking for one in white but can't find one anywhere with out buying the whole cluster.

It is from www.usspeedo.com. Very easy to install. Great customer service. Tech gave me a 20% discount for being a member on dp. Not sure ab discounts for dd.

Here's the link for mine:

I also replaced my bulbs in the cluster to led's from www.superbrightleds.com
It is easy to do on the older models. New ones are soldered in. Kinda aggravating.

The Odometer and PRD indicator is a VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display). They really only come in one color. Agree with custom8726, the only way to change the color is to put a colored filter over it.

Was there a kit for the LED replacements or do you have order numbers? I have an 02 and it sounds like its easy to do.

True, but in the 99-02 trucks the display is actually a bright white with a bluish/green filter over it, if you can cut out the filter out, and replace it with a blue one it would do the trick, probably the easiest way would be to get a gauge overlay that would cover up where you cut out the old filter and glued in the new one.

radvans: you have to get new bulb holders, i have a link for them from an arcade shop, their about $10 for 8 of them. Then LED's are about $15 for Super bright led's.

Far as the odometer overlay, you cant do it easily. I took my 2000 cluster apart to play with it for that very reason after i put my escalade cluster in.

Anyway, the color of the plastic deal is actually blue when held against white light (background is my computer monitor...so im thinking the color display has some hue to or it or is an overpowering green (much like blue led's against your orange needles make them blue at night).

Actual display without cover:

Side view, you see it has a glass screen ontop...im thinking this has something to do with it becoming green through the overlays.

Im still working on the issue because if i figure it out, ill be happy to have all matching blue in my 2000.
