You voting redline?

"Best" depends on what you're trying to accomplish but for the money I run schaeffers @ $17/gal for 15w-40 or $25/gal for 5W-40. Their eaton extended warranty compliant 75w-90 is actually repackaged from another blender but still excellent quality. A 5gal bucket of their 204SAT tranny fluid for $135 can change the Allison, transfer case, and power steering in one move.

I'll tell you that you've already bought the diesel that is the most gentle on its oil and exhibits the best wear patterns, so the choice of oil is much less of a big deal and won't make a statistically significant difference in your trucks life. I push schaeffers on friends and family because it's a fantastic company and their all around oil performance is unbeatable for the money.

Simple. Use Allison transynd for the trans, & transfer case. Front & rear diff, use Mobil 1 75W-90, & Dexcool 50/50 coolent.

Pepsi in the engine, Dr. Pepper in the differentials, Code Red in the trans and transfer case, and Orange Slice in the radiator (Mtn Dew is ok if you do a full flush first). I don't recommend Diet, the Aspartame breaks down over time causing excessive wear, and has been shown to cause cancer in lab animals.

Amsoil and Mobil synthetic = $$$$$$

Plus Amsoil runs no molybdenum and Mobil runs lower poly alpha olefin content bases.

Schaeffers, and don't let the short term copper spike scare you away. (Any high PAO content oil does this with the dmax)

I wish Brian would come in hed e and explain his reasoning for using petrol Canada oils. He mentions all the technical jargon like Magnus. I've wanted to switch to Schaeffer for a while but never have. I'd be curious to see how it stacks u to PC that brian touts about.

Go with Mobil Lubricants! Motor Oil ,Gear Lube and Transmission Fluid all synthetic!

^^^^^^This^^^^^^
There may be some slightly better exotics or extreme duty type lubricants available elsewhere but you will never go wrong with Mobil synthetics in these trucks

What do you guys think of Royal Purple?

Royal Purple is one of the most expensive lubricants in any viscosity you pick, and when you run it you notice marginal mileage improvements and slightly improved throttle response... And then when you run analysis after a few thousand miles you'll find all your purple fluids have sheared down to MUCH thinner viscosities... And your oil pan is full of wear metals.

I'm sure petrol Canada makes some good blends because they have a cult following of users in one of the harshest environments.

There are other good ones like Brad Penn and CenPeCo, I've just seen the best used analysis personally on schaeffers and I think it's a great company. A lot of top pullers who are very mean to their engines run schaeffers too, despite the company spending $0 on advertising and never publishing any crazy claims like some other companies.

If you want to see how tough an oil is find a used oil analysis from a Ford 6.0 running whatever oil you're interested in. If an oil looks good after 7,000 or so miles in that HEUI setup odds are good it'll go 10,000 plus in a dmax.

Royal Purple filters are hot s*** though. Made by Champion labs, synthetic micro glass media, <20micron single pass, high bypass spring rate, silicone anti drain back valve, all for <$10 a piece on amazon.
