I am in and have thawed the ice out of my eyebrows....

The first version of the application and datafile work fine for me - Win XP/SP2.

And, yes, that chart does look familiar...;) :p

To navigate with the arrow keys:

Up and down zoom out and in

left and right go back and forward a frame at a time.

TDC should be centered in the window, but if something was wrong with the data in that frame, it might give you weird results.

I will try to get another log file up for folks to look at.

thats way cool could you pm me a price fingers dont know if i'm interested depends on cost but looks like it would be a fun tool to play with and very helpful with tuning .

I downloaded the files and they worked fine for me......I think you have a great thing going with this setup, this could save alot of money in hard parts if used properly!!

X2 I myself would have to play with this tool alot in order to get a better understnding.....Kinda like EFI:) I think useing this with EFI and a Road runner on a dyno would be very cool!! Sadly I just cant afford this as of this point:(

Still glad its a option though!

It's threads like this that let me know just how dumb I really am.

Try sitting in the truck with Jon when he's running the CP monitor and explaining it to you.

He's an exceptionally smart individual who has the ability to put his ideas into action.

As for figuring out what pressures are considered "dangerous", couldn't you eventually glean that info from using the CP monitor at varying RPM/load while using different tuners/programming? Combine that with EFI's logging functions so you can see what timing/PW combo is putting CP into the red? May give a start, as least.

I recognize that glazed eye look Tom. :)

I hope to add Adiabatic and Isothermal curves and calcs to the software this week. What does that do? It will help users "see" how much heat is being absorbed by the chamber walls, head, and piston.

What the heck are these things? The Adiabatic curve represents the pressure if the compressed gas does not loose heat to the engine. Isothermal is if the charge is the same temp regardless of the compression.

With these guides, the user should be able to see the progression of the fuel burn. That is, when is the fuel actually burning. It is one of the pieces needed to predict what changes in timing would do to the pressure curve.
