I understand the turbo sock theory , but do you guys see a real world difference with and without?

Ask Darius (4warned over at DP). He added one of those blankets to his LLY and realized a noticeable difference in spool time and heat.

Dragging this one back from the dead.

I am getting a BD Supermax and was wondering if I should ceramic coat the turbine housing, pedestal and my RDL up pipes or get the blankets.

I kind of think the blankets are the way to go

What say You?:D

Coat the pedestal and run a turbo blanket on the up-pipes and exhaust side of the turbo. I would also put header wrap on the downpipe as well.

For the guys that have problems with coatings flaking off, what coating was being used?

I had Jet Hot do a set of manifolds and uppipes with their 2000 degree coating and I haven't had any issues with it burning off or flaking after 4 seasons of abuse.
