I don't know if this belongs here, but here it goes. I replaced the gauge cluster gauge face, installed it no problem and had no CEL. I decided I didn't like it and took it back off this time I think I forgot to the turn the key off when I unpluged the cluster. I now have the CEL on. Will this go away or does it have to be cleared with a Tech II ?

Depends on what the code is that is turning on the CEL. Any handheld programmer/code reader should be able to show the code and likely erase it.

I don't know what the code is but it has to be from unpluging the cluster because the truck hasn't left the driveway. The first time I unpluged it I had the key off, when I unpluged it second time the key was still on.

That is likely what caused it.

It should be clearable with any of the above mentioned units. Unless of course something isn't plugged in properly or left unplugged.:D

I don't know if it will shut off by itself or not but I have had the same issue before and just cleared it with my programer.

If it doesn't go out by tomorrow. Maybe Mike L can shut it off with his Tech II tomorrow.
