i run a cobra 29 tuned to get about 18 watts,1/2 watt dead key,galaxy finals and a 1000 watt mod box with 1000 wax linear,and a road king mike! now she really talks. . . and running munkey made antenna. . . . hope this helps

Oh come on now mike! its all about vhf/uhf radios now lol.

Galaxi would me my choice. have one in the samurai i got a long while back from a guy at DPS and it wont die. bad boy goes a long ways too!

Other than the actual CB radio (looking at a Cobra 25 LTD Classic) what all would one need for a decent priced setup that'll reach out a little bit?

Cobra 29 ltd. I had a single whip for awhile, then switched to a firestick. I think my whip worked better. Had maybe 4mi radius on it. My house was 3 mi away from the highway and had no probs picking up and talking. No work or amp, just plug n play.... I need to update my handle. Dad was West Texas Jack Rabbit and I was cotton tail. I took over his, but he said I need to get my own! ha
