Alot has to do with the tranny that is teamed up with the C7..Huge difference when you go comparing how much "guts" they have.

C7 has good internals, but you really can't use / abuse them as much as you can a Duramax. The key is that we have EFI Live ... the C7 doesn't really have much. Also, as was mentioned, the HEUI works OK, but has it's down sides too.

As for fitting one in a pickup, check the dimensions. The C7 is pretty long. Longer than a 5.9/6.7 CTD. You will most likely have to push the radiator / intercooler out into the grill in order to get one to fit. I've seen it done on a ~97' C3500 once. It was tight.

CATs are not in out duty of trucks for a reason. If they make that move, they will develop a motor for the condition, use, and etc. They are not just going to drop a 3406 in there and call it a day.

If you want cat power, just throw a badge on the truck to look cool, all the Vsucks mustang owners do it with slowbra badges all the time :thumb:

ill stick to my 6.6 motor that will beat up, last longer, run better than any current CAT/Dmax swap out there today.

The #1 power swap and coolness factor IMO for our trucks is a tune.
