Cat Adapter for the 15/16

I use the Donaldson p553203 (p553207 is longer) water separator with my cat adapter. They can be had for around $18- $23. Don't run the cat filter by itself.
Nictane lists his filter head fitting up to 2015 but requires the billet spacer to move it away from the engine. I wouldn't see why it would fit a 2016, you should call him up and find out for the rest of us :thumb:

Since my first '05 and countless tanks of rig fuel to today not once have I ever had a water in fuel light or ever drained a drop of water from any filters. Not worried about running the Cat filter by itself. Thanks for the info though guys.
Bad idea with cp4. They struggle enough without extra vaccum on the line and no water separation. The cp3 can handle a little moisture the cp4 just eats itself almost instantly...
I'd say Andrew at Injectors Direct would have then if one is out.

Yeah but none of those have the sensor in them. I'm not running the factory filter down stream.

Sensor for water? 90% or better I've seen water in the bowl of other trucks and never once set the water in fuel light on. Also heard the same from guys here.
IMO your better off running a water blocker cartridge style filter and water seperator with a complete glass housing so you can see what is going with your incoming fuel.

Exactly, reason I'm looking for a Racor or Donaldson filter setup to replace the stock separator filter on the FASS. I called them about it. While they said they'd seen it done before, didn't have the part#.
Since using 220gph pumps feeding from a 300gal fuel tank in a boat, a good separator with inspection bowl and sensor is a must. Typically Racor is the standard in marine diesel setups. So looking for something like these. Just no good cross ref from the FASS numbers.

IIRC Cat has a water separator setup with a clear bowl and a water sensor. You may need to either download the full Cat filter catalogue or find a good parts guy that either knows the part number or is willing to look.
I starting using the tall yamaha fuel separator filters, the racor bowl type filters have issues with bowl warpage and sealing. Not to mention the housings are made of pot metal and start to corrode in weeks of install...
