he's just bitter Kat don't take offense to it.

While Pat might not give a rats bottom what he and a few others say. I'm getting sick of it. There are a lot of people that have put time and effort into Casper and it's a slap in the face to all of us.

It's fine not to care what we do. But, I have had enough of the smart a$$ comments.

The shocks are generic lowering shocks. We dropped the rear about 4". IIRC, they are DJM? Fronts are Koni's.

The rear end is a 2.50:1 Currie 9+ with a spool, for LSR use only. We could not hit 200mph safely without dropping the ratio. We can now hit about 250mph. But only if I find a very long downhill... :D

Sheet metal differentials housing are as sweet as sheet metal intakes. How does lowering the gear ratio make going 200mph safer?

With the old 3.42's we would have needed to sustain 4500rpm to pass 200mph. 4500rpm is fine for drag racing, but will overheat if I hold it there.

2.50's will allow us to run as low as 3300rpm, which makes a lot less heat. We can also run 3800 rpm and leave it in 5th gear.

I am not trying to be an asshole or bash what you are doing(with enough funds, i would like to do it to). But you changed too many variables like gearing, 7.1+l engine, lowered it some more ect; to test the reliability of the new engine with how you had it set up before the changes. The new engine at 3300 rpm should live a long while. The old engine probably would have held up just as well with the gearing and lowering changes. I thought you needed lots of rpms for those massive twins to stay fully spooled(4000+rpms)

I'm pretty pleased Casper is runnin these parts. It is the ultimate ini durability testing for them. I have wondered how the strokers will survive under horrid conditions, and now we will know. Casper and many other trucks have already proved what the D-Max can handle stock. I think it would be safe to say Casper is a full time Max effort truck from here on out.

It might be easier to push the brick through the air w/more torque from the stroker w/the 2.5 gear than a stock bore/stroke. Not sure. Just guessing.
