Yes and no... The issue with a Compressed Gas type spring is it's not a straight rate increase, thus the "bounce" that is common with them due to the sharp spike in spring rate easily overpowering the shock.
Putting a big reservoir tank inline as an accumulator of sorts REALLY helps calm down rising rate of the airbags.

Thanks. Didnt know if you needed anything crazy hardened to stand up to the abuse. I have access to plenty of mild steel so thats good news.

Trivia - The Corvette has a balsawood floor for sound deadening.
I know on the C6 Z06 theyre carbon fiber balsa sandwich. I thought that was pretty sweet.
Blocking would be a good idea even with airbags.
