Looks to be 3/8 steel maybe 1/4" in some areas.

haha yes i am aware its steel what kind of steel is it hardened etc?

Not sure.

A spring is a spring, whether it's fiberglass (Corvette), steel leaf, steel coil, compressed gas (nitrogen charged shocks), etc.

Yes and no... The issue with a Compressed Gas type spring is it's not a straight rate increase, thus the "bounce" that is common with them due to the sharp spike in spring rate easily overpowering the shock.

Putting a big reservoir tank inline as an accumulator of sorts REALLY helps calm down rising rate of the airbags.

I ran the last of last season with bags instead of rear blocks. I ran 70 to 80 lbs of pressure and had no problems with the bouncy bounce.

Blocking would be a good idea even with airbags.

Or the drive shaft will start to look like the rubber band they use on those balsa wood airplanes from the drug store.
