Yes, he could. But, he hasn't yet. Actually could take the whole transfer case off if he wanted to. He had to pull the front drive shaft so the was no question of him running in 4wd.

Gotcha... i had to take one off when i lost the spacer for my CV flange from my lift, but then again i wasn't setting a land speed record. it sure went faster though
