Wonder why Guy sees it fit to use the Carillos over the howards in his stroker kits?


I don't want to speak for Guy (just guessing)......

I would assume it was due to both being high quality and one gave Guy a better price or was willing to do custom lengths (ie. stroker). IIRC Howards came out to the general public much later than the Carillos so it could have been what was available at the time...

Either way, I wouldn't worry with either rod.

I believe the stroker kit uses a stock rod length and strokes the crank and moves the wrist pin on the piston to equal out total length / protrusion , which is why Forged pistons are only used in the kit .

As Trent is confirming, I thought the strokers used standard length rods & the added throw was made up with different pistons.

Sorry, I didn't mean to distract the thread. Was just curious. Prolly just a timing or price thing. No biggy.

Now, if I could just afford a stroker build!!
