You can't pull DSP files off LBZ and newer trucks, it will only read the base tune

It will also say that the calibration contains one or more incorrect segment checksums

If you are going to re-tune it why do you need the tune that is in it???

No you cant pull a dsp2/5 tune from a Bosch controller with efi live.

And 99% of us are very happy with that :thumb:

Check the link above with his vin, post the os and truck info, one of us here will have a stock tune for ya.

Only trouble is that doesn't always work, and I have found that from time to time when using an os that is one "matched" by VIN sometimes the truck develops odd quirqs and gremlins. Have had this happen a few times, not often but a few times. Curious why EFI Live would make it this way, the option to lock the ECM is there, why make it mandatory?

Not sure but I think once they figured out how to wire a hardwired switch they moved on to another project. Didn't need to spend anymore time and people have been happy with it so far, I'd say its kind of a plus for the tuners too.

Well i don't have his os so just a vin do then its a guessing game an I only wanted it for the reason Mike s said shit don't always work when you guess os numbers

Dont guess OS numbers....Look up the current OS on TIS, then grab the correct OS stock tune and build from that. You can find one with all the correct cals....

Also EFI couldnt build locking into the bosch controllers, they stumbled on a bug that wouldnt allow the dsp tune to be read and iirc it was voted to just leave it like that....
