I tried it in Demo mode and it works on this XP computer.

Open any other application that allows typing.

Type something, then highlight it and go CTRL C.

(CTRL-C is actually retarded, that used to be the ASCII code for program halt)

I opened 2 Notepad windows and successfully copied/pasted...

Uninstalled and Reinstalled V7 & V8, no luck, clipboard will not open...Tried the auto-update for each and I get a "bad secret code" error message...

Just uninstalled/reinstalled V7, left V8 installed because I could not remove it...Tried the V7 update, got most of the way through then got "bad checkpoint" error message and could not complete the update...Copy/Paste works again:confused::confused::confused:

I have only seen copy/paste fail once on windows and that was due to a virus (the blaster worm) that affected remote procedure calls which Windows uses during copy/paste.
I don't think that is the case here, but its worth running a virus scan just to be sure.

As for the bad secret token, that occurs when the update file that has been downloaded from EFILive's server is corrupt. Please re-install the software from the CD (or the web site download), then perform the "check for updates" option again. Hopefully the update will download without any corruption.

Regards
Paul

Found the problem...There is a conflict between my Firewall protection (Computer Associates security software) and the copy/paste in my Vista PC...When disabled, I can copy/paste as normal...When enabled, I get the Cannot Open Clipboard error message...
