cannot license?

so i got efi live a couple days ago and got everything installed on my computer. then I updated it with the newest stuff on efilive.com. it all seemed to be working good so i downloaded my stock tune and then just to start i changed my speedo for my tires just to change something simple to make sure everything was working right. Well when i try to download it, it says it can't license my controller. Any ideas?

With the implementation of Cummins tuning we made some changes to the license structure. Your licenses will not appear if you have upgraded your software but not your firmware. Once the firmware/software mismatch is resolved your licenses will reappear.

Updating your FlashScan/AutoCal Firmware:
After installing the V8 software, open the EFILive Control Panel (aka EFILive Hapi) by starting EFILive Explorer (Start->All Programs->EFILive->V8->EFILive Explorer).
Once EFILive Explorer is running, the EFILive Control Panel icon (a small image of FlashScan) will appear in the Windows system tray at the end of the Windows task bar.
Click on that icon and select the F6: Firmware option. Click on the [Refresh] button and follow the onscreen instructions to update the firmware.
If you have a FlashScan and an AutoCal connected simultaneously, you may select between them using the list at the top of the window.

Ok so i got through the instructions bobo posted but when i hit refresh it says firmware version is ok. What is the latest version?

Ok, so you changed your tire size and saved the tune. You then hooked up the cable to your truck with the key on, and tried to flash it. It popped up a window saying the ECM was not licensed and started to count down from 15. Is this all correct?

When it starts to count down, do you have the key on or off? If off, do you turn it back on before you click the license ECM button?

yes thats correct i then turnned the key off started the countdown then turnned the key back on and clicked license button. it goes through all the warrnings and then says it can't license this controller.

Do you have an aftermarket radio in your truck?

no its a factory radio

Check and make sure the software is downloaded correctly. I had an issue with build 170 not being downloaded properly so I re-downloaded and had the software change the settings back to factory settings and everything is working fine for me now. I think some of the drivers got screwed up in the download process.

yeah i was thinking about just uninstalling it all and starting over.
