Hey guys
Looking for some help from my Canadian brethren. My family willbbbe be making the journey up to Alaska and have planned hotels and a majority of our fuel stops. However the stretch from Fort St John to Fort Nelson I can't find fuel station info. Wanting everything planned out as I will be traveling with my wife and our infant son. I will be driving our Tahoe and figure about 400 or so miles to a tank. Thanks!

It's only 237 miles Tony. Don't be a sissy:D Just make sure you top off in Fort St. John:thumb:

Man I need to take another look at my map haha. I will double check the places when I get home. I did a little gas calculator and it came up with some craziness

Haha whoops need the wife to double check my posts. It's earlier I'm not drinking yet I swear :D it's from Ft Nelson to Whitehorse

Don't know if the Honda is going to make it up...Uncle Sam doesn't ship vehicles to AK

Fort nelson to Watson lake is 319. Watson lake to White horse 272 ish. Watson had gas for sure during the day probably card lock at night. You can make Fort Nelson to Whitehorse in 12 ish hours IIRC.

I would keep 5 gallons of gas with you just in case. Make sure you leave Fort Nelson early in the morning. The little towns on the way to Whitehorse only operate during the day.

Bring your camera, lots of critters Elk, Bears, Wolves, Buffalo, Moose, Caribou etc. etc.

Enjoy the trip... If you end up in upper Alberta for some reason around a little place called Beaverlodge.... You don't know me;)

Anyone towed a light vehicle with a Tahoe or similar 5.3L equipped truck? Looking for some estimates on fuel mileage towing 3500lbs behind our SUV

Carry a fuel jug or 2 with you just in case. You never know. I have made the drive from fort St. John to fort Nelson many many times. You really are getting into the middle of no where up there. It's no place to be stranded on the road hours from anything. Trip preparation is very important for these remote roads. Have a safe trip!

Thanks! I definitely have been planning this trip thoroughly. Movers get here the 30th and we are on our way shortly after. :woott:

Only issue I've had with planning is getting an accurate fuel mileage estimate. I have figured everything to about 12mpg just to be on the low end of the scale.
