Can tune get reset by unhooking battery?

I have a 2003 LB7 183,000. I was disappointed with power when I first bought it at 90,000 miles. A friend of mine installed a bullydog tuner on it that he removed from his truck when he sold it and set it on the "mid" power range and it made a huge difference. I know that's not the highest rated tune but it worked fine for me and was free. I picked up 3-4 mpg and the black smoke would roll when I stepped on it.

Recently I noticed the truck seems to be back like it was before. MPG is down 3-4 and no black smoke. I hooked up the tuner and it is dead. No display so I cant reload. Can the tune be reset to factory by unhooking power for an extended period or some other way?

So what's the next step? I just replaced injectors. Low power issues started before the injectors but apparently not related. No codes. Runs perfect just low power. No other symptoms. New filters before we go there.

low power? are you sure? You need to find someone with EFI Live and log it...

Black smoke isn't a good gauge.

Why did you change the injectors? Switch to efi and don't look back.

I know some of the bullydog tuners were a custom OS setup with there own switching via the bullydog tuner sort of like EFILIVE switching via the V2 or EDGE CTS. I have no idea how bullydog set it up to select between which tune to run on in those systems, so it could be possible it defaults back to the stock position, and the bullydog is needed to reselect the added power tune. I doubt it, but like I said bullydog used there own custom OS to do there switcheable tuning. Now if you have a tuner without the switcheable tuning, the nthis wouldn't apply in any case.

I found that the bully dog is still working. I had a blown fuse that shut off the power to the port. I replaced the fuse and reloaded the performance tune. I still feel like the truck lacks power. It runs perfect. No issues but even pulling a small single axel trailer it feels like I have a fifth wheel. I am going to find a shop with the diagnostics equipment to check it out.

The reason I replaced the injectors was due to making oil and slight smoke.
