I assume tony's testing was on an engine dyno, not a chassis dyno therefore swapping cams would be much easier?

I've heard of another guy testing multiple cams & chargers on an engine dyno over the course of a cpl days. Of course, the results of these expensive test sessions on the dyno are pretty prepriotary to the select few doing the testing. Heard of results of maker A vs B but that doesn't tell you much when you don't know what the specs of each cam is.

Hopefully my custom grind from bullet is half as good as robs! Rob, are you able to say who spec'ed your cam?

I've taken off on a reading tangent or Super Chevy and Chevy High Performance printed by same outfit who does Diesel Power and Truckin'. These Chev engines coming out of these shops with twin turbos, superchargers and cams, heads etc. you name it are amazing the times they put down is amazing for a price. Cars knocking on 5 sec. times is about all anybody could hang on too isn't it. Read it if you want a change from diesel for a while it's like Kenne Belle supercharger 3.6 on a new Camaro and pulley change, tire change on back and go into the 9's. Stock Camaro I go what!!!!!!!!!! Anyway I like my Duramax but this new LS arena is way cool these guys are dead serious that's for sure. I could read for hours after finding this stuff. Anywho do what you like to that's the main way to have fun...

Hopefully St Joe diesel gets their engine dyno prepped for duramaxes so we can tune mine, and try a few things this winter. I feel pretty lucky for just guessing and going blind and having such a great season. I know all of haisleys trucks are dyno tuned and tested before the season start.

It was speced by Curtis Halvorson. Unfortunalty i was pretty much as far as i could get with stall, its around 3500, which really gives me around 3000 in 3rd. It would still take me around a minute and a half on the line with the old cam, and still wouldnt light till 50ft+. It was frying converters every 3 pulls or so. Since we did the cam swap, i havent had one issue with the converter. We had tried everything with tuning, when your trying to light a charger that big, clipped down to 2.6, you can only do so much, tuning will not get you there.

Like i said, just cause this cam worked better for me, doesnt mean it will for others. Im not saying cam A is better than cam B, they both got the job done for me. But its defenatly not something to be overlooked, or rushed into a decision.

Agree... The same with my testing, Results we found may not fit other builds unless your building a sister truck.
