Getting transferred from so Cal out to Va Beach. I have been out there quite a few times for work. Nice area.

Are there any good diesel shops near by?

Anyone on here live in that area?

Is salt used when it snows there? Are you vehicles getting rust damage from the use of salt?

I removed my intake grid heater. Will I need to reinstall it for the cold weather there?

Thanks Mack

It is a nice area. My parents lived down there while my dad was at Ft. Eustis.
You should worry about the salt from the ocean more than salt on the roads.
Not too sure about diesel shops but there are a lot of events up and down the east coast. I think there's an NHRDA race in Richmond in the spring time.

I would reinstall the the grid heater as it does get cold out here.
I live in Richmond which is approx. 2 hrs inland in the center of the state.
W/o the heater it might be kinda rough to get the truck going on some of the really cold morning/nights.
I have never plugged my truck in and it starts right up but the heater will fire for about 5 mins or so in the winter.

Good luck on the move and welcome to VA. :thumb:

I dont have a grid heater in my truck but I plug it in when Im at home. I would at work too if I had the option. Diesel shops I'm not exactly sure about. There are a couple in Wilmington, NC and in PA but not exactly sure of ones in VA.

we dont get snow here very often, however some years we may get as many as 4 snowfalls then go years wuth ou another. vb is an hour north of me. Tim Barber does diesel work in VB. he is great with cummins not sure how much he does or doesnt do with a dmax. Also the two shops we use for 99 percent of our work are within an hour and half of vb...
