I got to sit in one the other day and it’s going to be an awesome car. My decision will be based around tuning availability and I’ll get a used one in a year or two. (If I don’t buy an AMG wagon first)They are taking 40k unit deposits and the market will be saturated. once the Z06 comes out prices will drop. There seems to be plenty of room for a blower, but there are some structural obstacles that may need a creative solution. I did however lower the median age of the group at the reveal significantly....

Yea I heard you get a voucher for one complete corvette outfit including pants jacket and hat, as well as a pair of tube socks with white New Balance tennis shoes in your size :D

The Still Master
Low center of gravity and regen brakes so no fading like a gasser. Also the model 3 performance made mince meat out of the M3 on a track so I do dispute that the Model 3 Performance is only good in a staight line. https://www.carscoops.com/2019/04/t...urs-the-nurburgring-takes-over-car-after-car/

I am not here to argue, but If we both pulled up to a Valet at the same time they would be fighting over parking my C7 and not a Tesla, and nobody notices a Tesla in traffic, why should they, its making no statement...........its not even making any noise, it blends in with the rest of the boring sedans in boring colors.

Glad you like your electric car, its not for me, its a boring vehicle in looks and style, I want more than just a fast acceleration 0-60, I want a manual trans, a convertible top, an exhaust note that is to die for and supercharger whine so intoxicating it makes you want to hear it every time you drive it.

I also have no desire to wait around for a recharge or be limited to where and how far I can drive anything I own with respect to range, etc.

Nobody stands around at a cars and coffee or car meet around a white or black Tesla oogling it as it backs silently out out of a parking space, but they do take notice when a LT4 breathes to life and they hear it leave........;)

I doubt a Tesla has any suspension close to any Vette, and I am not sure a sedan is built to go 190 mph, or even can..........all things considered, its a fine car, just not my style.

Plus sitting on top of a lithium bomb that explodes in an accident and has a range of 260 miles does not make it for me as well.

yup, a lot of what you say is true and I still am looking at buying the C8 as well as keeping the M3P, but you seem not to like the C8 as well as the M3P of course for different reasons. I would think if you pulled up to a valet in a C8 it would get more looks then the C7 as well.
Anyways your points are well taken Tony. I think you have a great vehicle in the C7 and you can do a lot with it for sure!!
I get the same look and lots of interest when I pull up in my Indian Roadmaster that rumbles, has a great sound and looks spectacular so I know what you are saying!!

My only dislike on the C8 is lack of a manual trans and the hideous column of single buttons on the interior, as well as that half ass infotainment screen........:rofl::rofl:

Performance wise its got a lot going for it, as well as the overall look not being too bad, the interior layout is not so great.

The whole point for me driving a car is that a standard shift will never be as fast as that DCT, but its not my goal to have the fastest, my goal is to enjoy the overall connection to the vehicle.

I also own a 2019 Boxster GTS, its a blast to drive with the 4 cyl 365hp turbo and a 6 speed manual, its mid engine design makes it handle like its on rails, go-kart is how I describe it.

It is a helluva car, IF GM Does the C8 right and the DCT can compare to the PDK its probably a winner overall.

P.S.............the valets do literally fight over this one............lol

I think my wifes next car is going to be electric. Tried to get her into a SRT Jeep.

Hahaha, if you want an electric for the wife, why not get her the new Tesla Roaster in 2020. Good looking for valet parking, 0 to 60 in 2.1 secs, quarter mile in 8.8 secs, range 660 miles, and very good on the curves. Yes expensive but for what you get it will be better then any other super car.

There are way more fires per capita involving gas vehicle then electric. Even in accidents. Not saying that the electric vehicles can not improve on fires but facts are facts.

I totally agree on this. Every time I drive up to Mammoth Lakes, CA, I stop in Mojave at a little Mexican restaurant to eat. They have a Tesla charging station next to it and there is always 2-4 people standing around charging them up.

Ya that is a problem i guess down there. I am lucky, I live in B.C., Canada and we have plenty of chargers and very cheap electricity, plus I have a high voltage charger at home. Having said that I agree that electric charger infrastructure is a long way off to be plentiful for long distance driving or if someone hasnt got charging abilities at home. I use my M3P in the city and find it a lot of fun to drive around.
I've had pretty well every type of sports car going, Vettes, GTR, many Bimmers etc. For city I find this M3P the most fun to drive around, but thats for me. A lot of people like to hear that rumbling sound as well. That's what makes America Great. We all can make our own choices.

I find that more people are discharging at that Mexican resteraunt than charging.:baby::D:roflmao:

I’m sure the c8 will grow on me but I just feel like it’s lost its heritage with the new look and mid engine.

If I don’t think of it as a vette, I think it’s pretty rad looking. Little skeptical how they make it so cheap but I’m sure that will show down the road

Economies of scale and mass production without a lot of hand built components.

I don't know how you guys do it, but me trying to sit in a Vette is like putting on a tight skirt..It seems they make these cars with less and less interior room as time goes by.

Granted I'm 6'4 and 250lbs.......In a good way....

The new one is better, my buddy is 6' 5" probably 240 and had way more room than any other generation.
